The past decades have witnessed significant advancements in computing and informatics, accompanied by remarkable progress in communications, networks, and biotechnology, profoundly impacting various aspects of our daily lives. In response to this development, the Department of Computer Science was established in the College of Computing and Information Technology at the University of Tabuk as its first department. It offers a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science after students complete a comprehensive study plan covering essential fields required by the job market.

The department aims to prepare graduates with exceptional analytical, design, and innovative skills, which are critical for careers in the field of computer science. To achieve this, the department adopts scientific and cultural activities focused on students to enhance their skills and capabilities, enabling them to contribute effectively and professionally to society. The program also provides a unique educational environment that allows students to acquire the latest knowledge and skills in computer science by interacting with experts in the field, thus enriching their theoretical, practical, and research competencies.

The Computer Science program emphasizes a balanced integration of theoretical concepts and practical applications, following global standards such as ACM/IEEE in developing its study plans. The program has received international accreditation from ABET and is working towards obtaining local accreditation from the Education Evaluation Commission (NCAAA). Through this, the department aims to produce graduates capable of delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of local and global communities in the field of computer science.​
