Analysis of composite piled raft foundation for coastal buildings resting on weak soils along the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia
The major objective of this research is to develop an analysis method to analyze the composite piled raft foundation subjected to vertical loads A computer program will be developed based on the finite element method to analyze the composite piled raft foundation using the proposed method of analysis The accuracy of the proposed analysis method will be verified through comparisons with existing analysis methods and field measurements

A rational approach to the design of a foundation system for lightweight structures resting on expansive soil in the Tabuk area
The objectives of this research project are: to improve our knowledge about the engineering properties and performance of expansive soil in the Tabuk area as a supporting soil for different foundation systems The intent is to select the appropriate foundation system for the lightweight structures resting on expansive soil in the Tabuk area, and more specifically, to provide a rational approach for the design of the foundation system to be able to accommodate the movements in the expansive soil and mitigate or eliminate the damage of the lightweight structures

The hidden disaster: Expansive soils-practical recommendations for Saudi Building Code in the light of Saudi Arabias vision-2030
In light of Saudi Arabias vision-2030, urban development is rapidly increasing and thus, the possibility of constructing lightweight structures on expansive soils in different areas of Saudi Arabia increases This highlights the crucial need for practical recommendations to help civil engineers to mitigate or eliminate the potential problems and damages to lightweight structures constructed on expansive soils
The objective of this research proposal is to provide practical recommendations to the Saudi Building Code (SBC) pertaining to expansive soils in the KSA These recommendations concern soil properties, identification and classification, criteria for selection of appropriate foundation systems, design of foundation systems, updating the soil existence locations, and mitigation measures
