I am currently a Professor at college of Computers and Information Technology at University of Tabuk I served as a member of Saudis Shura Council, and before that as a Vice Rector for Development and Quality at the University of Tabuk, Vice Director of the Sensor Networks and Cellular Systems (SNCS) Research Center, Dean of IT Deanship, Dean of Computers and Info Tech College, and I accumulated more than twenty eight years of experience in academia, research and development, and industry In particular, my work has focused on wireless communication and sensor networks I have carried out a number of sponsored research projects in collaboration with peers from universities in UK and USA as evidenced by my list of publications These publications have covered new and emerging technologies and have resulted in important finding that had realistic impacts It is worth mentioning that these achievements have been scored while carrying out my daily administrative and managerial duties
My career has been characterized by a balance between academia and administration I have been involved in quality research and dissemination of the findings in the form of substantive articles in highly regarded journals My aim has always been to share my knowledge and further technology and serve my community intellectually My Contributions have earned me recognition by both my own institution as well as the prestigious IEEE Society
My achievements include
• Raising, with others, more than 3 M SAR in the form of research projects funding from KACST
• Publication of a mix of single author as well as multi-author papers in highly regarded journals
• Authoring/Editing a book entitled Sensor Networks for Sustainable Development published by CRC Press, USA
• Founding SNCS Research Center at the University of Tabuk, that had a major impact on the University of Tabuk research activities
